Laurie Sheen Young is the subject of this entry in MIPLA's "Meet the Board" series. Laurie is a IP attorney focusing on patents and trademarks at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner, P.A., while also splitting her time and acting as Senior IP counsel and Data Privacy Officer for Katun Corporation. In her role as in-house counsel she advised the company on freedom to operate matters, patent and trademark strategies and associated intellectual property agreements. In her role as IP attorney at SLW she focuses on mechanical applications in the medical device industry, agriculture industry, and aerospace industry.

Outside of SLW and MIPLA, Laurie is the chair of the Corporate Practice Committee for the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

In her free time, Laurie loves to bake, especially with her two children. She has entered the Minnesota State Fair baking competition many times for her cookies and has placed 1st one time and 5th three times. After over 5 years, she just finished a personal challenge to bake every cookie in the King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion Cookbook (over 350 recipes).
